President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on Friday, 19th April 2024 launched the first-ever Agriculture, Tourism and Mining (ATM) Expo. The event was launched with the Agriculture Investment Conference at the Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC). Departments from the Ministry of Agriculture showcased their services to potential investors and buyers among other players in the agriculture sector.
The Department of Irrigation (DoI) had a chance to showcase, with stunning visuals, the works in different projects currently underway such as the Shire Valley Transformation Project (SVTP), Program for Rural Irrigation Development (PRIDE), and Agricultural Infrastructure and Youth in Agribusiness Project (AIYAP). The Conference also provided a chance for the DoI to disseminate information about the services it offers and bring awareness to the availability of Irrigation offices in all the districts in the country where stakeholders can be assisted with irrigation-related developments.
The agriculture part of the Expo event concluded on Saturday, 20th April 2024, with a Conference where Directors from all Departments in the Ministry of Agriculture made presentations on the services they offer and where these services can be accessed. Other stakeholders also had a chance to make presentations on their products and services.
