KULIMA is a programme designed to promote farming in Malawi. The overall objective of this programme is to promote sustainable agricultural growth to increase incomes, employment, and food security in Malawi in the context of changing climate. The programme has three components: Increase in agricultural productivity and diversification through mainly up-scaling climate-smart agriculture technologies, agriculture value chain and business development and support to improved governance in the agriculture sector. The programme was activated in March 2017 and falls under the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) with a budget allocation of €110 million. The programme has other co-financing partners namely the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the German Cooperation (GIZ).
